On This Day In Baseball History: April 10, 1968

Carl Yastrzemski

Beloved Red Sox left fielder Carl Yastrzemski coming off his MVP and triple crown season of 1967 hits two homers on opening day, one was an inside-the-park homer. It wouldn’t be until 2009 when Emilio Bonifacio accomplishes the feat that another inside-the-parker would occur on opening day. Yastrzemski would go on to be selected to the ’68 All-Star game and win a Gold Glove.
