In front of 72,000 fans at the $2.5 million Yankee Stadium Babe Ruth hits the parks first home run as the Yanks beat the Red Sox 4-1. Ruth would go on to hit 258 more homers in Yankee Stadium bested only by Mickey Mantle. Mantle hit 266 homers in 1213 games compared to Ruth’s 259 in 851 games.
