Willie Mays

 

San Francisco Giants 32-year old outfielder Willie Mays hits his 371st career homer becoming the National League’s all-time right-handed home run leader passing Gil Hodges who set the mark in 1962. Mays will finish the 1963 season with 38 homers, bat .314, make the NL All-Star team and win a Gold Glove. By the time Mays retires in 1973 he will extend the record to 660.
