On This Day In Baseball History: May 31, 2012

Carlos Gonzalez

Colorado Rockies leftfielder Carlos Gonzalez sets a Rockies record and becomes the 22nd player in history to hit a homer in four consecutive at-bats. Car-Go hit homers in the fifith, sixth, and eighth innings of Colorado’s game yesterday and followed that up by going yard in his first inning at-bat against Bud Norris. Gonzalez’s biggest challenge during his career has been staying healthy. He has been selected to two All-Star teams, won three Gold Gloves, and finished third in the NL MVP voting in 2010.
