Roger Clemens


40 year-old Yankee Roger Clemens becomes the 21st pitcher in Major League history to earn his 300th win as he goes 6 2/3 innings besting the Cardinals. Also, by striking out Edgar Renteria in the second inning he became the third player to record 4,000 career strikeouts, joining Nolan Ryan (5,714) and Steve Carlton (4,136). By the time his career is over he will pass Carlton with 4,672 career strikeouts and win 54 more games to put him 9th on the all-time list.
