Tom Seaver


Cincinnati Reds 33 year-old righty Tom Seaver throws his only no-hitter. During the first 11 years of his career, all with the Mets, Seaver threw five one-hitters, two that were broken up in the ninth inning. His first ll years with the Mets he won Rookie of the Year in 1967, three Cy Young Awards (1969, 1973, & 1975), and was selected to ten All-Star teams. Once he was traded to the Reds he was only selected to two more All-Star teams (1978 & 1981) and only had two top ten finishes in Cy Young voting, fourth in 1979 and runner-up in 1981. He finished his career with 311 wins and 3,640 strikeouts. Seaver was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1992 with the highest percentage ever 98.84 (425/430 ballots).
