On This Day In Baseball History: July 6, 1983

 

California Angels outfielder Fred Lynn hits the first grand slam in All-Star game history during its 50th anniversary. The slam helps the AL to its first win since 1971 by routing the NL 13-3. The homer is Lynn’s 4th All-Star homer tying him with Ted Williams for the AL record. It would be Lynn’s last All-Star game.
