Mark McGwire

 

On his way to a then record 70 homers St. Louis first basemen Mark McGwire joins Darrell Evans as the only two players to hit 40 homers in one year in each league. McGwire accomplished the feat with the A’s and Cards and Evans with the Braves and Tigers.
