Tom Glavine


New York Mets starter Tom Glavine becomes the 23rd player and only the 5th lefty (Randy Johnson would make it 6 lefties 2 years later) in history to win 300 games when tosses 6 1/3 innings to beat the Cubs at Wrigley 8-3. Glavine, who was elected into the Hall of Fame in 2014, was a 10-time All-Star, 2-time NL CY Young, and a 4-time Silver Slugger winner. Glavine was a model of consistency starting at least 32 games 17 times in his career including 12 in a row (1996-2007). He also won 20 games 5 times including 3 consecutive seasons; 1991-1993.
