Mike Sweeney

 

Kansas City Royals first baseman and designated hitter Mike Sweeney drives in his 100th run of the season in the teams 117th game, becoming the fastest Royal to 100 rbi. Sweeney would finish the season with a new club record 144. Sweeney would finish his career fifth on the Royals all-time rbi list with 837 behind Frank White (886), Amos Otis (992), Hal McRae (1012), and George Brett (1596).
