Felix Hernandez

 

Seattle Mariners rookie Felix Hernandez strikes out 11 Royals to become the first teenager to post double digit strikeouts since Dwight Gooden K’ed 10 Expos in April of 1984. Hernandez would finish his first campaign with a 4-4 record, striking out 77 batters in 84 1/3 innings pitcheed and a 2.67 ERA. Hernandez would struggle a little in 2006 but quickly adapted to become one of baseball’s best pitchers.
