Ryne Sandberg

 

Chicago Cubs second baseman Ryne Sandberg hits his 30th homer of the season making him the first second baseman in history to have back-to-back seasons of 30 homers. Sandberg would finish the season with an NL league leading 40 homers to go along with leading the league in both runs (116) and total bases (344). He would also win a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger award and finish 4th in MVP voting.
