Chicago White Sox designated hitter Jim Thome hits his 40th homer of the season making him only the second player in history to homer 40 times with three different teams, joining Alex Rodriguez. By the time his 22-year career is over the 5-time All-Star will have accumulated 612 career homers, 7th all-time. He also is 7th all-time in walks with 1,747, and 19th in career OPS at .956.
