Starlin Castro

Chicago Cubs second year shortstop Starlin Castro collects his 200th hit on the season when he leads off the game with a single off Cardinals starter Chris Carpenter. Castro is the youngest player to get 200 hits since Alex Rodriguez had 215 hits as a 20 year old in 1996. Castro became only the tenth player in history to get 200 hits in a season before turning 22. He joined the aforementioned ARod (1996), Garry Templeton (1977), Vida Pinson (1959), Al Kaline (1955), Buddy Lewis (1937), Joe DiMaggio (1936), Hal Trosky (1934), Lloyd Waner (1927), and Ty Cobb (1907).
