On This Day In Baseball History: September 25, 2014

 

New York Yankees shortstop, captain, and one of the most beloved Yankees of all time, Derek Jeter, comes to bat for the last time at Yankee stadium in the bottom of the ninth with the game tied at 5 and a runner on second. In true Jeter fashion he takes the first pitch the opposite way to drive in the winning run. A storybook ending to what is one of the greatest careers in baseball history.
