On This Day In Baseball History: October 8, 1995

Seattle Mariners designated hitter Edgar Martinez, in the bottom of the 11th inning with Ken Griffey, Jr on first, hit what is known simply in Seattle as the double. Junior scored all the way from first sending the Mariners to the American League Championship Series. Thinking back on the amount of talent that Seattle had that year is remarkable. Tino Martinez played first, Griffey played center, Edgar was the DH, a 19-year old Alex Rodriguez had one plate appearance, and Randy Johnson and Norm Charlton dominated on the mound.
