Anibal Sanchez

Detroit Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez joins Cubs pitcher Orval Overall as just the second pitcher in postseason history to strike out four batters in one inning. Sanchez struck out Jacoby Ellsbury, Shane Victorino (reached on passed ball), David Ortiz, and Mike Napoli in the first inning setting the stage for Detroits 1-0 victory. With his performance Sanchez also became the first Tiger in either the regular or postseason history to strike out four batters in one inning. Sanchez finished the 2013 regular season with an AL best 2.57 ERA, 2.39 fielding independent pitching, and a 0.4 HR/9 ratio while finishing 4th in the AL CY Young race.
