On This Day In Baseball History: October 18, 1977

 

New York Yankees outfielder Reggie Jackson hits three home runs on three consecutive pitches earning him the nickname Mr. October. Often overlooked is the fact that Reggie also homered in his last at-bat of the previous game giving him a home run in four consecutive at-bats. Jackson was named World Series MVP.
