New York Yankees rookie shortstop Derek Jeter is unanimously selected by the Baseball Writers Association of America as the AL Rookie of the Year. Jeter would spend the entirety of his Hall of Fame worthy career in the spotlight getting some of the most memorable hits in postseason history, earning the nicknames Captain Clutch and Mr. November.
