On This Day In Baseball History: November 25, 1981

 

Milwaukee Brewers reliever Rollie Fingers wins the AL CY Young award becoming the first relief pitcher to do so in the AL. Fingers posted a microscopic 1.04 ERA while tossing 78 innings and saving a lead leading 28 games. The 34-year old also took home the AL MVP award by edging Rickey Henderson.
