The Houston Astros and Cincinnati Reds agree to what has to be considered one of the worst trades in baseball history. The Astros send Ed Armbrister, Jack Billingham, César Gerónimo, Denis Menke, and future Hall of Famer Joe Morgan to the Reds in exchange for Tommy Helms, Lee May and Jimmy Stewart. While Lee May proved to be a great source of power during his time in Houston he was only there for three years. Tommy Helms and Jimmy Stewart produced nothing of significance. During Morgan’s eight years in Cincinnati he was an 8-time All-Star, 5-time Gold Glove winner, and the 1975 & 1976 NL MVP.
